Manchester Pregnancy & Maternity Photography
My way of creating your maternity images is always led with your story at the forefront. Documentary, photojournalism, editorial. I mix it all with my passion for analogue photo methods to create a gallery made with a whole lot of love.
All of my work is film with a little bit of digital. The film stocks are chosen according to what will suit the shoot most and also what you have a preference for in your images.
I also offer Super8 videography, a wonderfully nostalgic form of video. Available as a highlight film, Super8 is a beautiful and unique way to remember pregnancy, newborn or family.
Whether you’re hoping to have a gorgeous, wild pregnancy photoshoot or a cosy and intimate newborn shoot I will be there to document your story in a way most authentic to you.

Charlotte did my maternity shoot and my husband and I loved the photos so much we had her do our newborn shoot too. Charlotte creates such a calming and relaxed environment and really put us at ease, especially necessary as we are not naturals in front of a camera!

My approach to pregnancy and maternity photography is rooted in creating an experience that feels both natural and seamless.
I aim to be present but never in the way—always observing and responding to moments as they unfold naturally. I focus on real moments, the spontaneous laughter, tender glances, and unguarded interactions that reflect who you are.
To ensure I capture everything perfectly, I take time to get to know you and plan for the session accordingly. This includes discussing your priorities for your maternity shoot. Whether it's managing lighting, anticipating weather changes, or adapting to unexpected circumstances, I always have a plan to keep everything running smoothly.
All maternity photographs are delivered within 4 weeks, and previews available within 1 week of your session. A short, 1 minute Super8 teaser is also delivered closely after your preview images. Any polaroids taken are also posted to you to keep. Images and videos are delivered in a private, online gallery and printing rights are granted for you to make your own prints and albums.

Super8 holds a very special place in my heart. It is a gorgeous way to hold moments in time. It is nostalgic, honest and timeless.
Available as highlight or full films, taken on Kodak film and set to music, Super8 is a beautiful and unique way to remember your pregnancy, newborn baby and family.

I couldn’t recommend Char enough! I’ve just had my pregnancy photos back from her and I LOVE them. They really are something we will treasure forever.
I was uncertain if I’d feel awkward or uncomfortable but I couldn’t have been more wrong.
Char was so friendly and made me feel at ease straight away. I also think the photos being taken in my own home eased me a lot too. Partners and dogs can also sneak into the photos!
I haven’t felt at my best in my third trimester but looking at these photos I feel amazed and so glad Char captured this for us.
We are also booked in for a newborn shoot at home and I honestly cannot wait.
Would recommend a MILLION times over to book in. No regrets and I adore every single photo taken xxxx

Do you travel?
I am based in Manchester, England however I love visiting new places and am happy to travel to meet you where you are.
Do you shoot film?
Yes, all of my work is a combination of film and digital. I have a variety of cameras and formats that I use to create a unique and artistic gallery.
I am also able to shoot on only film on request. I develop and scan all of my film.
What is your turnaround time?
Full galleries are delivered within 4 weeks of your maternity photoshoot. Previews and a Super8 teaser are delivered approximately 1 week after your day.
Can we have unedited photos?
My edit is part of my style as a photographer. Each image is edited to create a cohesive gallery and to make sure that every photo is representative of your day. Unfortunately I do not give out unedited images or negatives.
